Rinat Goren was born and raised in Israel, where she was surrounded by crafts men and women, who worked with their hands, building, mending, and stitching. Having moved to the United States to attend college, her involvement with the arts was put on hold until recently. She now maintains a studio at Hunter's Point in San Francisco, devoting herself full time to encaustic painting, her primary medium.
Deeply affected by childhood memories of the beauty of thread transformed into weavings and embroideries, she began her series “A Cup of Tea” during the pandemic, when access to traditional materials was limited.
