Laura Petrovich–Cheney repurposes discarded remnants of wood and other debris to create sculptures that invite a dialog between individual histories and global environmental issues. Her work has been exhibited in solo shows at Berea College, KY; the International Quilt Museum, NE; the Fuller Craft Museum, MA; and is currently on display at the Boston Children’s Museum, MA.
Widely published both here and abroad, she is the recipient of grants from the National Endowment for the Arts, the National Park Service, and the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation, She was awarded the New Jersey State Council on the Arts Fellowship in Sculpture in 2017, and the Artist Fellowship in Crafts from the Massachusetts Cultural Council in 2021. She lives and works in Marblehead, MA.
